Cinderella, released in 1950 and the second Disney princess besides Snow White, proved that animated movies were still a profitable business. Other releases of the period included Alice in Wonderland (1951) and Peter Pan (1953). These movies are still celebrated today.
Sadly, in December of 1966, Walt Disney died of complications related to lung cancer.
