Disney's next major accomplishment would be the production of the first ever full length animated movie - Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Taking three years to complete, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, premiered in December 1937 and became highest-grossing film of that time by 1939. The studio completed this movie by using rotoscope, a technique where each scene is recorded with actors and then painstakingly traced over, frame by frame. The average movie is 24 frames per second - that's 24 drawings in one second!
The studio continued releasing animated shorts and features, such as Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1940), Dumbo (1941), and Bambi (1942).
